Summary. Archaeological monitoring was carried out at 30 Wellesley Road, Colchester, Essex, during groundworks for a two-storey extension to the rear of the property. The site lies within the heart of the Roman cemetery area to the west of Colchester town centre, as well as other significant Roman activity located nearby. Despite this however, no archaeological features were found during the monitoring.
