Summary. An archaeological evaluation by trial-trenching (one trench) was undertaken at Kingsdown, Green Lane, Aldham, Colchester, Essex prior to the conversion of the existing garage and construction of a new cart lodge. The site is located on a historic green and near to two cropmark complexes. Despite being located in an archaeologically-sensitive area, however, no archaeological remains were encountered.
