Summary.
Prior to the conversion of a Grade II listed barn for residential use, a building recording was carried out. Despite substantial damage to the structure, the investigation found multiple instances of reused timber within the barn and evidence of medieval carpentry techniques. It was concluded that the barn was probably raised in the 15th or 16th century, not the 17th as was originally thought.
The monitoring of the groundworks uncovered the foundations of a modern garden wall. No evidence of buildings known to have stood on the street frontage was observed.
