Summary.
Archaeological monitoring was carried out by the Colchester
Archaeological Trust during the creation of a new pond between hole 6 and hole 7 of the Braintree Golf Club golf course.
A sherd of flint-tempered pottery and eight worked flints were recovered from the topsoil, suggesting some activity in the area during the later prehistoric period. No archaeological features or deposits were identified.
