Summary.
As a result of accidental finds, a small excavation took place between 1960 and 1965 in the garden of 'Somerford', 147 Lexden Road, Colchester.
The main feature discovered was a gully, pit or trench. Which contained large amounts of pottery and other domestic and building debris. There was little eveidence to show any occupation after A.D. 60.
