Summary. Archaeological monitoring and recording was carried out at The Rectory, Highbridge Street, Waltham Abbey, Essex, as part of a wider assessment of the building. The Rectory is a Grade II listed (NHLE 1124127) three-storey, timber-framed house, which was built in the late 16th – early 17th century with numerous later additions. A small test-pit against the building to determine the depth of its foundations did not reveal any archaeological remains.
