Summary. Archaeological monitoring took place at Christ Church, Ireton Road, Colchester, Essex duringgroundworks for two side extensions and a drainage run. The development site is located adjacent to a known area of Iron Age and Roman cemeteries known as the Lexden cemetery. Groundworks at the site revealed a pit and a possible ditch, although a lack of dating evidence meant that their relationship to the archaeological remains in the area is unclear.
