Summary. Archaeological monitoring was carried out at 85 Rayleigh Avenue, Eastwood, Leigh-on-Sea, Essex during groundworks for the construction of two new dwellings with associated access and parking. An evaluation undertaken by CAT in July 2023 identified six archaeological features, most notably a Bronze Age pit. However, no further archaeological remains were noted during the monitoring.
