Summary. An archaeological evaluation (four trial-trenches) was carried out on land adjacent to Wadhurst, New Road, Little Burstead, Billericay, Essex, in advance of the construction of three bungalows with associated landscaping. Human remains and Roman finds have previously been found to the south-east of site, with cropmarks identified to the north and west. Evaluation revealed three/four modern features, one of which may be a backfilled pond, but there were no significant archaeological remains.
