Summary.
Archaeological monitoring took place at St Peter’s Church, North Hill, Colchester ahead of the construction of a new kitchen, toilets and flooring. The church has its origins in at least the Anglo-Saxon period, and is a Grade II* listed building. Evidence of three tombs or vaults were found, as well as the remains of a brass monument, a post-medieval soakaway, and remnants of brick foundations. A small quantity of disarticulated human bone was also found inside and
outside the church.
