Summary. An archaeological evaluation (five trial-trenches) was carried out at Newfoundland Lodge, Box Lane, Dedham, Essex in advance of the construction of a new stable, ménage and domestic store building. A number of cropmarks surround the site, including some which could be enclosures, but no archaeological remains were discovered during the evaluation.
