Summary. Archaeological monitoring was carried out at Colchester Garrison B-Ground to the west side of the former Arena leisure centre, Circular Road East, Colchester, during groundworks for the erection of a new fence. The fence posts were positioned to avoid cavea wall structures associated with the known alignment of the Colchester Roman Circus. A small amount of Roman building material was recovered from the new fence postholes during the monitoring. No features were uncovered.
