Summary. An archaeological evaluation (one trial-trench) was undertaken on land south of 13 Fingringhoe Road, Colchester, Essex in advance of the demolition of existing buildings and the construction of warehouse-style commercial units with landscaping, parking and associated groundworks. The site is located in the midst of a cropmark complex and near to a number of findspots of prehistoric artefacts, and borders the historic Old Heath Common. Despite being located in an archaeologically-sensitive area, however, only two modern pits were uncovered.
