Summary. An archaeological evaluation (22 trial-trenches) was undertaken at Fiveways Fruit Farm, Stanway, Colchester, as part of a phased evaluation scheme in advance of the construction of up to 420 dwellings. This report details the results of Phases 2b and 2c. The site is located close to Gosbecks Archaeological Park and the nationally important Stanway elite burial site, and immediately to the north of two Middle Iron Age enclosures excavated at the Fruit Farm in 2015.These phases of evaluation revealed 33 features, one of which was prehistoric in date and the rest undated.
