Summary. Archaeological monitoring was carried out at High Gables, 24 Oaks Drive, Colchester, Essex, during groundworks for a new conservatory. The site lies near the Late Iron Age and Roman site at Sheepen and within a known area of Roman cemeteries. Despite being located in an archaeologically-sensitive area, however, no signifiant remains were encountered.
