Summary. Archaeological monitoring was carried out at 1-7 Winnocks, Military Road, Colchester during the demolition of seven existing almshouses and the boiler house, and groundworks for the construction of nine new dwellings. Groundworks revealed a 19thcentury wall which previously bounded the property along with two pits which both dated to the 18th or 19th century.
