Summary. An archaeological evaluation (three trial-trenches) was carried out at 6 Church Green, Coggeshall, Essex in advance of the construction of a new single-storey dwelling with an associated car port. Three post-medieval pits were uncovered, as well as Roman material including a 1st-century brooch and a possible nummus, as well as a small amount of building material which suggests that the remains of a Roman building lie nearby.
