Summary. Archaeological monitoring was carried out at 4 Ireton Road, Colchester, Essex, during the erection of side and rear extensions. Two ditches, which produced a small assemblage of Roman pottery and building materials, were uncovered during the groundworks. These features may be of modern origins, or alternatively, they might possibly represent the remains of a Roman trackway.
