Summary. An archaeological evaluation (two trial-trenches) was carried out on land at Minstead, Deerbank Road, Billericay, Essex in advance of the construction of a new dwelling. The site is located within the deerpark of Norsey Wood, an area of medieval and postmedieval woodland which was also a site of settlement during the prehistoric and Roman periods. Despite being located in an area of archaeological interest no archaeological remains were encountered.
