Summary.
An archaeological evaluation (four trial-trenches) and subsequent excavation (41mē) was carried out on land at Croft End, Molehill Green, Takeley, Essex in advance of the construction of four new dwellings with associated garaging, amenities and groundworks. Two pits and a natural feature were excavated. Pottery retrieved from the larger pit was of a possible Bronze Age date.
