Summary. Archaeological monitoring was carried out at 282 Mersea Road, Colchester, Essex, during the erection of a two-storey side and a single-storey rear extension and associated groundworks. Although the site lies near a number of archaeologicallysignificant sites, no significant archaeological remains were encountered.
