Summary. Archaeological monitoring was carried out at 7 Common Road, Stock during the demolition of the existing house and erection of the first of two new houses with associated parking and groundworks. Monitoring was primarily undertaken to determine the relationship of the site to the historic pottery industry of Stock. No significant archaeological remains were encountered as excavations did not penetrate beyond modern layers. Nor was any residual evidence of pottery manufacture uncovered.
