Summary. An archaeological evaluation (seven trial-trenches) was carried out on land at White Court, Braintree Road, Shalford, Essex in advance of the construction of a new residential development of four detached dwellings with associated garages, carparking, landscaping and external works. The evaluation revealed an undatable possible quarry pit.
