Summary.
An archaeological evaluation (eleven trial-trenches) was carried out on land at Park 2 Badley Hall Farm, Badley Hall Road, Great Bromley in advance of the construction of twenty-four new dwellings with additional overflow parking for the church and school. Archaeological evaluation at this site uncovered a medieval ditch, a medieval/postmedieval pit, a modern pit, four undated pits and a ditch, and two natural features. Fragments of late 13th- or 14th-century decorated floor tiles retrieved from one of these features indicates that a high-status dwelling or religious building stood in close proximity to the site during this period.
