Summary. Archaeological monitoring and recording were undertaken at 3 Silvanus Close, Colchester, Essex during groundworks relating to alterations and extensions to the existing property. The property lies in close proximity to sites of significant archaeological interest, with a high potential for Roman burials. All the test-pits and groundworks revealed that the site has undergone extensive modern disturbance. No significant archaeological features or finds were revealed.
