Summary.
An archaeological evaluation (thirteen trial-trenches) was carried out land to the rear of 82 Jaywick Lane, Clacton, Essex in advance of the construction of twenty-one bungalows and forty-eight supported living apartments, together with associated access, surface water drainage and other associated development. The development site is located within an area of cropmarks of linear features, ring-ditches and enclosures. Evaluation revealed three modern pits, an undated post-hole, and two undated tree throws.
