Summary. An archaeological evaluation (six trial-trenches) was carried out on land to the north of Hornecroft, The Heath, Tattingstone, Suffolk in advance of the construction of thirteen new dwellings and an associated access road. The evaluation uncovered twelve undated features, most of which are probably tree-throws from a wood shown on the site in Hodgkinson’s map of 1783. An undated posthole, pit/posthole, gully and a possible ditch terminus (or natural feature) was also recorded.
