Summary. An archaeological evaluation and excavation was carried out at 14 Cambridge Road, Stansted, Essex in advance of the demolition of existing buildings and the construction of a mixed use development of residential and commercial properties. The excavation revealed significant archaeological remains, in particular foundations and floors of a building abutting Cambridge Road which was marked by successive phases of activity from the late 17th-century to the modern period.
