Summary.
An archaeological watching brief was carried out at 24 St Peter's Road, West Mersea, Essex during the construction of a rear extension. The development site lies to the west of the medieval Church of St Peter and St Paul and within the area of what is thought to be the site of a small medieval Benedictine priory. Despite being located close to a number of sites of archaeological interest, no significant archaeological remains were exposed on the site.
