Summary.
Archaeological monitoring and recording was carried out to the rear of The Greyhound Inn, High Street, Lavenham in advance of the construction of a rear extension and other works. In the centre of the medieval town of Lavenham, the development site is located behind the 15th-16th century listed building but adjacent to a more modern timber-framed building at the rear of the property. Significant archaeological features were one 16th17th century pit and two undated pits or natural features.
