Summary. An archaeological evaluation (three test-pits) was carried out at St Mary's Upper School, 91 Lexden Road, Colchester, Essex in advance of groundworks associated with the re-organisation of the existing car- parking. Despite being located close to the Late Iron Age/Roman 'Lexden cemetery' area and the Sheepen settlement and industrial complex, the only archaeological feature was a single undated pit.
