Summary. An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the excavations of foundations for a two-storey extension at 31 Irvine Road, Colchester, Essex. No archaeological features were identified during the work. A single sherd of 12th/13th century pottery and a piece of Roman CBM were recovered from a buried topsoil layer.
