Summary. The site at 15 Roman Road is located within the site of the walled Roman town and backs onto the Roman town wall, which is a Scheduled Monument. An archaeological watching brief was carried out during groundworks for the installation of an arbour at the eastern end of the garden adjacent to the town wall. Groundworks did not go deeper than modern topsoil, and so no archaeological features or finds were revealed.
