Summary. An archaeological watching brief was undertaken in advance of the construction of a car-park on land adjacent to 34-38 Southway, Colchester. Despite being located in an area of known Roman cemeteries, no archaeological features or finds were revealed as groundworks did not go deeper than through modern topsoil.
