Summary. Evaluation east of 'Highfields' on the site of a proposed new dwelling revealed a post-hole which was part of a fence recently removed by the owner. No archaeological strata or features were exposed which are worthy of preservation in situ, and no further archaeological works have been requested by SCCAS. The depth and nature of the soils sealing the archaeological features is consistent with soil generated by normal agricultural activities.
