Summary.
Located to the south of Felsted’s historic core, the site consists of a broadly rectangular area of overgrown grass and shrubs which was formerly part of the garden of ‘Willowdene’. Ten evaluation trenches (total length 200m) positioned within the footprints of five proposed new buildings revealed only a modern pit.
There was no archaeological evidence relating to the ?medieval cropmarks in the vicinity.
