Summary. During two stages of excavation by the Colchester Archaeological Trust, evidence for activity dating predominantly to the Roman and medieval periods was uncovered on land to the west of the junction between Duck Street and Rookery Lane, Wendens Ambo, Essex. Artefactual evidence indicates sporadic activity in the immediate area from prehistoric through to modern times. The archaeological deposits were well preserved with little modern disturbance.
