Summary. Four trenches were dug to uncover service pipes running underneath Circular Road North. In one trench, the service pipe was located at 100mm. At 80mm, a greensand wall foundation was discovered, which is part of the Roman circus. Another trench contained a number of modern bricks and ceramics.
