Summary.
An archaeological watching brief and an evaluation revealed that features were spread very thinly over the site. The north and west areas of the site were particularly quiet archaeologically. Only nine of the 41 features recorded produced any finds. Of those features without finds, most were natural in appearance. Ditches containing Late Iron Age and early Roman pottery indicate that the land is on the edge of a Late Iron Age settlement. The scarcity of features suggests that most of the land was not inhabited or was used for arable farming.
