Summary. Observations were made during groundworks for a new extension on the north side of St Peter ad Vincula Church, Coggeshall, Essex. Burials dating from the late 17th to 19th centuries, which had been previously been disturbed by a WW2 bomb, were recorded and reburied. The presence of residual Roman pottery and tile reinforces the suggestion that Roman remains exist very close to the church.
