Summary. This is the report about a fluxgate gradiometer survey carried out at Abbotstone Quarry. Since the areas proposed for mineral extraction include a known cropmark complex, the survey was carried out to test the suitability of the technique as a means of defining and elucidating the features which caused the cropmarks. Although it is possible to distinguish several marks and blotches on the survey strip, the fact that none of the known cropmark ditches showed up indicated that further work with the gradiometer was not likely to produce very useful results.
